Presumed to be one of the 42 because of the amounts mentioned. Took a share on behalf of his brother Edward Clayton Pettet, the accountant, which he kept as his brother didn’t want it.

Note: In Parliamentary Papers there is only one George Pettet listed but the testimonies clearly show that they are two different people. The Deal Poll book lists another George Pettet at 29 Middle Street & 7 Market Street and this is who the day 12 testimony relates to.

    Did you offer it to him ? — Yes ; I put his name down on the paper unbeknown to him. I thought he would like to have a pound as well as the rest, but when I told him he would not have anything to do with it.
