Supplied flys mostly to Sir Julian and Lady Goldsmid but also to Mr Edwards. Somewhat unfairly listed as a briber as he had only passed on a single amount to one of his workers, William Goodchild who lived nearby at 19 Middle Street.

Who ordered the FLYS ? — Sir Julian Goldsmid himself ordered the pair horse carriage chiefly ; either himself or his lady. I think very nearly every day we was out with him, and took them home about 2 o’clock sometimes, or just before 2, and he would say, “Be here again at 2.” I took generally the orders from Sir Julian or his lady, and sometimes I took orders from the other party.
