Friend, William Benjamin | Day 22
William Benjamin Friend was called to appear on Day 11 and again on Day 22 – the last day of the trial. The Commissioners do not seem to realise that he has appeared before and he is listed separately in the Report as William and William B. On both occasions he gave the same testimony although omitted on Day 22 to give the number in Exchange Street. Confirmation comes from the Poll books showing him as William B living at No 2.
