Testified that he received £32 from Mr George Ralph to share amongst the unnamed 6 man crew of his lugger that was brought back a distance of 20 miles especially to vote. After deducting expenses each share was £3 5s. Doesn’t specify their names. This testimony isn’t quite accurate. Mr Ralph actually paid the money to George Mockett Pain who was the Master of the ‘Albert Victor’ lugger. Pain testified that expenses train fares etc amounted to £6 with the remainder shared equally between the crew.
