He also received £15 from John Thomas Outwin (L) to distribute between 3 men, keeping £5 for himself. Bowles and Cross received £3 and Stevens, £4. All three received bribes from both sides.
The Rose & Crown later became the Admiral Penn in 1982.
Charles Redman was the son of James Redman who had also been Landlord of the Rose and Crown. Also brother of the Landlord of the Providence Inn, Alphonso James Redman.
